I’ve been working in the child care sector for 26 years, I never went into this career for the money but for the love of educating young children and feeling like I’m leaving a legacy. At the end of 2021 my partner of 17 years who shared all expenses had a sudden cardiac arrest with seizures leaving him with a significant brain injury, he receives a pension but that doesn’t cover much in terms of everyday expenses. I want to continue our modest living but with soaring food, electricity costs sky rocketing I’m hoping our quality of life is not affected.
